Meet the Maker!

Tawnshi, hello, I’m an Indigenous artist based out of beautiful British Columbia! I’m Métis/Cree, most of my family lives in Edmonton now, and my family historically comes from Red River.

I wanted to create this brand in honour of my ancestors. Those who lived and died before me to ensure I’d be here, today, proud of who I am. I love myself and my culture; I’m a skilled singer and drummer, I do beading, and I’ve danced. I find healing and love when I spend time around other Indigenous people, our jokes and traditions, our way of loving teasing.

I recently moved away from home, into the city. I found myself missing that Indigenous connection and conversation. I found myself searching for things I wanted to see represented, causes I wanted to see highlighted. So often, Indigenous issues get pushed to the sidelines. By supporting this brand, you’re taking The Bold Detour.
